Subsidiary of an international group – producers of chilled ready meals; soups, dressings, dips and, pasteurised salads.\n

Based in Antwerp, Belgium, comprises two plants six miles apart and employs 300 people.\n

Its areas of activity are North-West and Central Europe.\n

It supplies a number of European retailers METRO, AHOLD, TESCO, BILLA, ALBERT HEIJN amongst others.\n

Current turnover stands at c.50m€ with significant growth plans in pipeline for forthcoming two-three years.\n

We are looking for a

IHRE NEUE HERAUSFORDERUNG

• This is a newly created role and reports into the Managing Director of the site
• The role will sit on the Executive Team and have responsibility for championing NPD across both businesses.
• It will have direct accountability for a six-person team.
• The role embraces Packaging, Process and Product, from range extensions and NPD to blue sky innovation/R&D.
• The role entails developing & delivering NPD Strategy in line with business unit plans – leading and managing the relationship/development initiatives; sells in/promotes category direction.

• Must be a ’Foodie’ with a real PASSION for Food/Trends/Concept Development.
• Must compliment a corporate culture of openness, directness and challenge.
• Must have VERY STRONG interpersonal skills for internal and external communications.
• Must have excellent customer/account management skills
• Must be comfortable operating at all levels; a hands-on approach.
• Must be an English speaker and fluent in either German or French
• Experience of managing an NPD function, working with Finance, Production, Sales and Buying
• Experience of dealing with customers at a senior level.
• Analytical and Interpersonal skills to challenge customers – external and internal.
• Willing to learn Flemish.
• Must live/relocate to commutable distance of factory
